This606 is a 1900 dated L.E.C. Mk1 Carbine that would have started life in .303 but was then converted to .22 when it became worn out as indicated by the opposing “R” stamped on the barrel knox form. The rear sight has been graduated to 100, 50 & 25 yds, the cursor is also windage adjustable. This is a rare rifle in either .303 or .22, the Butt Disc would appear to indicate that it once belonged to the “1st Duke of York’s Own Lancers” which if correct were part of the Indian Cavalry. The barrel as you would expect from a .22 rifle is very good, an excellent shooting as well as collecting little Carbine.
