.22 Enfield Short Rifle MkIV SOLD

£1,095.00
sold out

The .22 MkIV rifle was approved on the 19th of November 1921 and was a conversion of the MkIII & MkIII* SMLE. The barrel is solid not tubed and originally was not fitted with a magazine, this was later amended in 1925 with the installation of a magazine with the spring & follower removed. In 1926 the rifle became know as the Rifle No2 MkIV* this rifle is interesting as the markings were not updated so it still shows it as a MkIV. This rifles conversion was carried out by AG Parker, just one of several British gunsmiths who were involved in doing the conversion work. The rifle including the barrel are in very good condition with matching numbers to the bolt, action & nose cap, it also benefits from having a windage adjustable rear sight and a “long” butt.
