7.62 x 51 Enfield No4 CONV

£795.00

The 7.62 Enfield No4 CONV comes from the same family as the L39A1, L42A1, Envoy & Enforcer but there does not appear to be a great deal know as to why they were made. it is believed that they were built for military rifle clubs, this example does have a “Sold out of Service” mark on the barrel. They appear to share the same serial number range, this one with the serial number of A68 was one produced in the first year of manufacture being 1969. I have seen other examples which had the same fore end as the L39A1 target rifle but this one is stocked up with the same fore end as the Envoy it also has a 7.62 magazine which again is different to the L39A1 as that was originally only fitted with a .303 Magazine that was used as a loading platform. With so little know about the origins of these rifles it is difficult to say if it was built this way or has been altered at some point in its life. An interesting rifle it is fitted with a Parker Hale 5C win zero rear sight with 1/2 minute graduations and a Parker Hale tunnel fore sight. It is in very good overall condition and the barrel is clean and mirror bright with strong rifling.
